India beat West Indies by 9 wickets to level series 2-2

West Indies won the toss and elected to bat, hoping to put pressure on India for a big score.

Kyle Mayers and Shai Hope started off brilliantly, adding 73 runs in eight overs for the first wicket. Meyers scored 17 runs from seven balls, while Hope scored 45 runs from 29 balls.

India fought back in the middle overs, picking up a few wickets, but there was still plenty of firepower in the West Indies' batting line-up. Shimron Hetmyer scored a brilliant 61 off 39 balls to take them to a competitive score of 178 for 8. He hit three fours and four sixes and shared a crucial 44-run partnership for the eighth wicket with Odion Smith.

India's bowling was led by Arshdeep Singh, who took three wickets for 38 runs in his four overs. He dismissed both the openers and Hetmyer in his spell. Kuldeep Yadav also bowled well taking two wickets for 26 runs in four overs.

Jaiswal and Gill make fun of the chase :

India needed a good start chasing their target and got it from Jaiswal and Gill, who showed no sign of nervousness or pressure. He played some aggressive shots and kept the scoreboard going.

 

They also broke the record for the highest partnership for any wicket in T20Is, surpassing the previous mark of 171 by Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson against Pakistan in 2016.

Jaiswal, who was chosen Player of the Match, scored an unbeaten 84 off 51 balls with the help of 11 fours and three sixes. Gill supported him well by scoring an unbeaten 77 off 47 balls with the help of three fours and five sixes.

The duo made light work of the West Indies bowling attack, which failed to take any wickets after the dismissal of Tilak Verma in the first over.

India achieved their target with three overs to spare and leveled the series 2-2.

India show its character and skill :

The fourth T20 match was a must-win for India, who had lost the previous two matches by narrow margins. They showed their character and skill to chase down a mammoth target and secure a convincing victory. It was a befitting reply to his critics, who questioned the depth and consistency of his batting.

India will be happy with their performance and will go into the last match with the intention of sealing the series. They will also take confidence from their youngsters, who have stepped up in the absence of some senior stars.

West Indies, on the other hand, would be disappointed with their bowling performance, which lacked discipline and penetration. They will need to consolidate quickly and plan well to contain the Indian batsmen in the decider.
